When a person decides to get victory over lust, they usually think in terms of control, “I’m going to stop doing this!”  But gritting your teeth and trying to stop lusting by self control will not work.  You have to do exactly the opposite—surrender.  
 

You arrive at victory by admitting you are powerless over lust, and then asking God to help you.  You've tried it many times your way in the past -- and it's never worked.  Now try the surrender approach.
 

Here's how works -- pray this simple prayer:
 

"God, I'm powerless over lust.  I surrender myself to you.  Please heal me, and make me a whole person."
 

If you try to do it on your own, you'll end up with "white knuckles” -- and live in continued defeat.
