I want to share a very interesting verse with you:
Jeremiah 19:5 "They have built the high places of Baal to burn their children
in the fire as offerings to Baal—something I did not command or mention,
nor did it enter my mind."
There have been many issues in life that make me wonder, "Do we really need to talk about this? Everybody knows this is right (or wrong) and common sense dictates that people live better than this!" In this verse, apparently, God has thought that same thing. I found it interesting because much of what we talk about in our Chat Room deals with stuff we all think should be obvious to our beloved MLCers.
I just want to remind all of you that life is for the strong. Joshua 1:9 says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” We all have a tough road to walk and God entrusts each of us with challenges that can seem bigger than us. God has, however, promised his presence every step of the way to give us courage, faith, endurance and encouragement.
It's important for us to remember that God is bigger than us. We have a limited view of life and the events that affect us. God has an eternal and pervasive view of those same events. He knows when to inspire us to pray and He knows when to call us to wait. He knows what is happening in the hearts of everyone involved and He knows how experiences interact. So, it does come down to His timing and trusting in His wisdom to lead us.
